Exciting times at Boots Bon Accord! The beauty hall has recently undergone quite the transformation. New counters have revitalised the space making the brands we love feel fresh and exciting as well as introducing new brands to the city, including Fenty Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics and Huda!

We caught up with the new beauty crew in store to get their top beauty tips and find out what they are most looking forward to when working in the new Boots beauty hall.

Claire

• What’s your favourite brand in store?

Probably Too Faced! Fun colours and easy products!

• What make up product could you not live without?

Blush! Doesn’t matter what colour or kind it is! If I’m awake! I’ve got to have blush on!

• What is your go to skincare hero?

Cleanse and Polish from Liz Earle! If I’m wearing a full face! I need to know I’ve got something good to take it all off!

• What are you looking most forward to in the role?

Helping people to experiment! Branching out from their usual colours and tones and trying something fun and new!

Olivia

• What’s your favourite brand in store?

I would say that my favourite brand is Nars. Not extremely expensive, very good shade range in concealers, foundations, blushes, etc. So far everything I’ve tried haven’t let me even once down, and gives you very chic, but effortless look ?

• What make up product could you not live without?

100% bronzer (preferably cream). Can’t go without it, just makes me look and feel so much better.

• What is your go to skincare hero?

Clinique cleansing balm! Just makes the routine of taking your makeup off so much quicker and easier. Skin feel very clean and soft afterwards!

• What are you looking most forward to in the role?

Encourage people to try more, but at the same time support all of their daily needs and preferences in terms of makeup and skincare, relieving stress from shopping, as it might be quite overwhelming to find the right products when there is so many of them.

I’m also looking forward to becoming better, trying out new products, trends and techniques on myself in order to share this with our customers in the future.

• What’s your favourite brand in store?

My favourite in-store brand is Fenty Beauty, there’s a shade for everyone and I’ve not come across a skin type the soft matte foundation doesn’t look good on.

• What make up product could you not live without?

The Illamasqua brow gel, it is so creamy and pigmented and can be used in so many different ways.

• What is your go to skincare hero?

My go-to skincare hero is the Beauty bat cica and mushroom serum, it has helped control breakouts and calm my easily irritated skin.

• What are you most looking forward to in the role?

I’m most looking forwards to interacting with the public and creating a fun and comfortable shopping experience and matching customers up with their perfect products.

Ailsa

• What is your favourite brand in store?

Huda Beauty! I love how diverse her brand is and how she has products for every type of glam. Her packaging is also super cute which makes it even more appealing to buy!

• What makeup product could you not live without?

Highlight! If you can’t see my glow from the moon, I simply don’t have enough highlight on!

• What is your go to skincare hero?

The Caudalie Vinopure blemish serum! I have such problematic skin and have always struggled with acne and blemishes. This is one of the first products I’ve tried that has blown me away and made me feel more confident in my skin!

• What are you most looking forward to in the role?

Exploring new brands and learning about new products! Showing customers the perfect product for them! ?

Jodie

• What is your favourite brand in store?

Too Faced is my favourite brand the eyeshadow palettes are especially my favourite they are super pigmented and have luxurious scents! The brand has as a whole is fabulous and even better they are vegan and cruelty free!

• What make up product could you not live without?

Mac tinted fibre brow gel! This effortlessly creates fuller thicker brows and keeps them in place all day!

• What is your go to skincare hero?

Clinique Moisture Surge 100hr Auto Replenishing Hydrator. This amazing product gives me long lasting moisture and packed with nutrients to help brighten, hydrate and plump my skin the application is lovely feels cooling and very easy to absorb on the skin!

• What are you most looking forward to in the role?

I’m excited to learn and develop more knowledge in this role and sharing with customers hints and tips and help them find products they will love in store?

Jordon

• What is your favourite brand in store?

Absolutely nobody will be surprised from me when I say Too Faced. They are a serious makeup brand that have amazing performance products but they are a brand who know how to have fun with pretty and innovative packaging that are staples in anyone’s makeup bag.

• What makeup product could you not live without?

For me personally, as I’ve gotten older I can forego a lot of things except when it comes to my eyebrows. As long as I have a brow gel handy, I’m ready to take on the world!

• What is your go to skincare hero?

I will always swear by Elizabeth Arden’s 8 hour cream. This is a product that has consistently saved my skin after episodes of contact dermatitis from other products or when my moisture barrier has been damaged or impaired. I always have a full tube of this in my wash bag in case I have a skincare related SOS.

• What are you most looking forward to in the role?

I’ve worked in this industry for an awful long time. What I’m most looking forward to in this brand new opportunity is being able to bring the benefit of unbiased advice and expertise to enhance customers overall experience. We don’t all fit into one box or category and our beauty and makeup choices should reflect that of the results and the looks that we desire. I’m super excited to help people get everything they want out of the products they choose and share my own tips and tricks for them to achieve what they’re looking for at home too!
